Doesn't quite qualify as an old zero post, because it was the official invitation from Billo to the inaugural Thursday Night Club outings, after which at some point in the future a quite self-satisfied group of regulars (of which whom had never missed a Night) proclaimed themselves to be the ZEROS, in that we would begin assigning numbers to folks who missed even one Thursday and the numbers would rise from there.... BUT.
At which point I believe I am currently about at somewhere near 500...

Subject: Thursday Night Club -- A Posting
Status: R
Let it be said, in future years, that on this day, being September
18, 1987, twas brought forth upon the surface of this campus the
THURSDAY NIGHT club.
Which you, THE STUDENT receiving this, are cordially invited to join.
The concept, derived in fleeting moments of intense thought, is this:
Thursdays signify clear thought, camaraderie, and group social events,
and therefore, must be recognized as THE time to perform computer
science student bonding. This bonding, the collective grouping of
aforementioned students, is referred to as the THURSDAY NIGHT club.
Pragmatics: the THURSDAY NIGHT club will meet on Wednesday nights.
No, not really. THURSDAY NIGHTs at 10:30 PM, in the lobby of Sitterson
Hall. We should emphasize that we will be going to meeting places,
gathering spots, veritable MELTING POTS for the ASTOUNDING KALEIDESCOPE
of Chapel Hill society, all of which will probably serve alchoholic
beverages for those who so desire. This is the mission:
Sheer, unadulterated fun and naughtiness. Meet us in the lobby at
10:30 PM this and every Thursday. Especially if you're tired of being a
computer geek. Howzzat?
